Our History |
Hauraki Plains Motors has a long history making it a trusted brand in the region. The company was started in 1926 and still operates from the original building, which has been expanded considerably over the years to accommodate the growth of the business. This longevity means that most of our business is conducted on a handshake. We know most of the farmers in the region and if we don’t we make it our mission to get to know them. Who We Are |
Miles and Diane Shelley are continuing the family ownership of Hauraki Plains Motors LTD after going from partners for the last 39 years to full owners at Christmas 2017. Miles originally worked on a dairy farm before starting his mechanical apprenticeship which he completed with Hauraki Plains Motors LTD in 1979. He has also been a registered Motor Vehicle Dealers Institute Salesman since 1985. Miles and Diane have both worked for the company since they left school. Miles says it has been enjoyable and rewarding to work for the company and is looking forward to himself and Diane leading it into the future.
